Care Packs
14 Oct 2007 — Haha! Finally yesterday I received my FedEx package from Billie, after several days of custom-related dramas and woes. Fine, fine, I’ll pay your bloody duty already, just give me my freaking parcel! Happy thoughts, happy thoughts… so yes, of late, I have been showered! Absolutely showered with gifts from all directions – haha, even if much of it was prompted by myself – making me feel both blessed and very very rich!
So as mentioned, first of all, Billie’s FedEx parcel: what goes there? Eeeks, so exciting!
My Anthropologie dress, which is now in the right size. The US’s liberal exchange policies is sooo darling!

Hydroxycut HARDCORE – God’s gift to the horizontally-challenged: cutting down workout effort by half and producing results twice as fast. Yeah baby!
My beloved baby-pink Nokia, which my silly-cow of a husband accidentally took with him back to the States. See how the black substitute that I had to put up with for the last 3 months pales in comparison…
REAL toothpaste – Jason and Tom. I’m most intrigued by the Jason “Vanilla Mint” flavour, gotta check it out soon.
LURVE LURVE LURVE my new Kate Spade sunnies!!! Took a gamble buying it online, but hey, fits me like a T. Not bad ley…
And a few surprises from Poops:
A couple of funky cloth wrist-pouches – perfect for an off-day here where all you need are your keys, mobile and lipgloss. Buay-pai mah poopie, you’re getting better and better at discerning my taste.
A card with the sweetest message inside, hee hee, reserved for me eyes only of course…
Haha, and this is my favourite, ‘cos it’s so quirky and unexpected (never mind the trashy fortunes)! This Billie so cute! He’s such a gorgeous man, isn’t he?
But, but, but, but, BUT the main impetus for this whole package… mwah hah hah hah… my new Canon camera and more importantly, underwater-casing!!! Yay yay yay! Yep, this baby will now allow me to take pictures up to 40 metres deep! Sigh… my hubby, he ABSOLUTELY adores me. This is living proof.
Next, evidence of parental love.
Oooh… what have we here?
Pretend pretend dunno, actually most of the stuff I myself ordered one…
TONS of Body Shop shower creams! Life’s little pleasure on this isle of nought.
Garnier 100% Color for those black roots… got Chaminda the hairdresser to apply it for me. He did a pretty good job.
Korean dictionaries – to better understand my hundred and one Korean spa package guests. Bey-dey, actually it’s to better understand the hundred and one Korean serials my parents brought me. Haha!
Green tea candy – 3 different varieties somemore!
My favourite rice-cracker! Lots of soy sauce, so salty so yummy. Available only from Daiso.
Ricola sugar-free candy, cause you can’t get any decent ones here, not even in Male!
My parents threw in a few Nissin cup noodles: the Laksa is my favourite! So authentic even got tau-pok!
Ahem, a few girly items…
And haha, since it was round about the time of the Mid-Autumn Festival, my very own mooncake pack, complete with paper lanterns. I very spoilt, must be Hong Kong mooncakes, the Singaporean ones not worth the calories.
Speaking of which, had the loveliest HK guests!
Mr Garcia & Ms Ling. Here we are outside the Spa Retreat reception.
Yep, got some mooncake from them too. Brought it along with them ‘cos they were gonna be in the Maldives during the Mid-Autumn night and they too did not want to miss out! Heh heh, all the better for suckers like moi.
Not just that, they left me all their magazines and and and FOUR Cantonese DVDs!!! Ahhh!!!!! Happiness!!!! The spa receps were soooo jealous. Too bad they are Thai or Maldivian, so cannot share anyway. Hee hee…
But most of all, they were so kind to send me this letter of appreciation:

This was the translated version I sent to my 老爸:
Hello Tiffany
We are Mr Garcia and Ms Ling Sui Chun. On 29 Sep night, at around 10.30pm, we reached Hong Kong airport. We are really thankful for your warm hospitality whilst in the Maldives. Your work attitude is very professional, and really worth our respect. Both of us had a wonderful time in the Maldives because you and your colleagues provided such professional service. Because of that, we had an unforgettable holiday.
After leaving the Maldives, at around 7.30am, we arrived at the Singapore airport and began our tour of Singapore. We hired a taxi to bring us to Chinatown, and then to Orchard Road for shopping. In the afternoon, we went to Maxwell Food Centre to eat Hainanese chicken rice. It’s really delicious. I was satisfied just eating the rice alone, it was so tasty. We also had sliced fish noodles made from fresh milk, and many other yummy dishes!!!!! We believe we will visit Singapore to eat again. If we could see you in Singapore at that time, it will be even better!!!!!!
While in Singapore, I took many pictures of Singapore. I will now create an album in Google and give you the link. You can copy the photos so as to remember your Singapore!
Don’t know how accurate I was, but I tried my best.
So yep, you see… recently very very loaded indeed. Who says material things can’t bring one happiness? I’m absolutely basking in consumerist ecstasy…
…the pleasure I derive from my various care packs is so tangible I could grab it and bite it! Much like them mooncakes…
