Vote for Jeff!

Tuesday, August 16th, 2005

16 August 2005 — For more than a year now, our dear friend Jeff, has put his white-collared job on hold in pursuit of his creative dreams in music and film-making. No mean task, especially not in corporate cut-throat Singapore. So even though you may not know the man, you’ve got to admire his guts. Actions speak louder than words. Vote for him to win in the Canon DV Fest 2005. His entry is Uncommon Spaces, hwah hwah hwah, see, even the name is artistic.

Don’t vote wrongly ah! And don’t you dare vote for anyone else! If he wins, he’s gonna blan-jah Wil and I tandoori. And hurry! The deadline is 19 August 2005, 9am.

Remember, we’re hungry, and we’re counting on you.

Late Bloomer

15 August 2005 is an important day for another reason. Not only is it the last day of BB 2005, it is also the last day of the 3 months since I pierced my belly — the official duration the shop girl gave me when I asked her how long it takes to recover. So yes, folks, what you’re looking at is a picture of my “new” belly stud, along with all my belly bulu-bulu. As you can see, it has healed very nicely, and in fact, never did get infected.

I Demand a Recount!

Monday, August 15th, 2005

15 August 2005 — Today is an important day for me. Yes, after more than 3 months, 20 housemates and 18 evictions, it is finally here…

If you didn’t oredi know, I am a HUGE BB fan! Months before the show even starts, I’m oredi gearing up for it. When the season does begin, my life stops, or at least the social aspect of it. No, nothing comes between me and my 7pm daily shows, and the 2 hour ‘Live Eviction’ shows on Sunday. If somehow, you have ended up seeing me at those times, you can consider yourself pre-tty special. I made MEGA concessions for you. But tonight, NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING is gonna get in the way!!!

Phamish — Vietnamese

Monday, August 15th, 2005

13 August 2005 — We didn’t get round to doing our weekly “Makan” last week, so this week, despite barely recovering from my flu and with a massive cough still hanging around, I couldn’t wait to chow down on some Vietnamese food at Phamish! Yep, read about this place from Sydney Weekender’s Eating Out section, and have wanted to try it out since. The only lay-chay part was that it’s quite a hassle to get to. In Sydney in winter, anywhere that involves having to take a bus is lay-chay.

My Dad’s Been Busy

Sunday, August 14th, 2005

12 August 2005 — While I’ve been taking a little break to nurse myself back to health, (besides when you’re home all day, not leaving the house once, there’s only that much to blog about) my dad has been very busy “taking over” for me. Thank you 老爸! So here are a few more anecdotes from his library of unuseless information… One last point to mention, the last story on this page where he bitches about a very very distant cousin, and gushes about his own daughter, that’s only HIS view point. I take no responsibility. At first I thought I should remove it, so pai-seh, but then not so nice to censor him lah. So I thank you for your kind understanding…

Balance in Progress

Thursday, August 11th, 2005

11 August 2005 — Last Sunday I attended a crystal healing workshop, one that I’ve been waiting for for years. It’s conducted by my own crystal healer, Janine, whom I’ve regularly seen these last 4 years for all sorts of conditions, or just when I’m feeling a bit out of whack and needed a tune-up. Words can’t describe the deep respect and gratitude I have for her, she has not only been my healer but also spiritual teacher and guide. So it was with much anticipation that I attended the class. I didn’t take any pictures that day, nor make any mental notes to blog about it later. No, I decided it was going to be my day, a day where I can just relax and be fully present in the moment of whatever is happening.

National Day Nasi Lemak

Wednesday, August 10th, 2005

9 August 2005 — Seeing how yesterday was National Day, and how one is never as patriotic as when you’re living abroad, I decided to commemorate the occasion by, what else, celebrating our favourite national pasttime lah! Makan makan makan! For the TOtal experience, I decided to 弄两手 and whip up nasi lemak and bubur hitam. Haha, impressed or not? Besides, I know how elated Billie will be. Well, he has been working very very hard, so this is also my way of showing him how much I love him lor…

Of Teeth Grinding & Drooling

Tuesday, August 9th, 2005

9 August 2005 — Hi everyone! It’s been almost a week since I launched the site, and I would just like to thank everyone who’s sent me such kind words of encouragement and support. Heng ah! No hate mail yet… but truth be told, the 2 persons I was most worried about with regards to response were my parents (strange but somehow at 29, I still look for my parents’ approval), especially my dad, ‘cos I didn’t know how he would take the “老爸大道理” section. Would he be upset? angry? mebbe even disown me? But I’m glad to announce that my parents are very happy for me too. Yay!!! And my dad, wow, he’s totally embraced it. In fact, I’m beginning to suspect that he’s trying to steal my thunder… He’s even penning his own thoughts! Haha! This you’ve got to read…

Airport To & Fros

Monday, August 8th, 2005

6 August 2005 — I’ve been to the airport twice this week alone. On Tuesday, Sumie & I were there to surprise Andrea by sending her off. Yes, she’s going back to Cape Town to be with her man for good. Never having the need to do it myself, I forgot how common it is for those with curly/wavy hair to get their hair straightened. So imagine my shock when I saw Andy with her straight tresses! Go there to surprise people, ended up surprising myself. Wow! She looks totally different and oh so sultry. At first I even mistook her for an Asian chick! And when you feel it, her hair is so baby soft and silky… hmm… Mark will enjoy running his fingers through them… hee hee. Ok, better don’t embarress her anymore, I still need a place to stay if I ever go to Cape Town.

William’s Not-So-Extreme Makeover

Monday, August 8th, 2005

5 August 2005 — For a long time now I’ve been nagging William to get his hair done. His hair now is not only long, but also so black! Uncle lagi uncle. I’ve decided, today IS the day.

The Before mug shot

Actually the photos really don’t do my frustration justice. Somehow he still looks ok in them, but in reality, really very uncle and ugly! Somemore see, see, never shave again. Cannot stand!
